Warpwire allows users to upload captions to their video or audio assets directly. Both WebVTT and SRT caption files are supported (as are captions in multiple languages). Learn more about manually uploading captions and creating captions yourself.
Your institution can also leverage Warpwire's closed captions services (contact Warpwire for more information) or services from our caption partners. This allows users to request captions, admins to approve or deny the requests, and the caption provider to automatically transcribe or translate the video — no manual transcribing required. When the caption file is received from the caption provider, it's automatically attached to the video or audio asset and will be visible to any viewer who selects it.
If your institution already has a closed caption relationship with one of the supported third-party caption providers, you can set up a profile so that users can request captions. To do this, you'll need the key and secret from the caption provider. If you don't have this information, get in touch with the person at your institution who established the relationship with the caption providing company.
